Our Pastor

Rev. Emily R. McCachren

Pastor Emily came to MUPC in October 2018. This is Pastor Emily's first call to serve a church after receiving her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in May of 2018. Before Princeton Seminary, Emily graduated from Elon University with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies in 2015. Prior to college, Emily grew up in Morristown, New Jersey.

Pastor Emily has a heart for authentic worship that captivates each person's body, mind, and soul at some point in each worship service. By offering our whole selves over to God in worship, we prepare ourselves to live as God's beloved people outside of the regularly scheduled worship hour. Emily's comprehensive view of worship includes the drive for mission around and study of the gospel. The importance of true fellowship, Christian friendship, is also central to Emily's ministry. Through Bible Study, choirs, Pastoral Care, mission projects, and worship itself, Emily desires to know each member of Christ's Church better. In so doing, we build up the Church by being our truest and most compassionate selves.

Pastor Emily lives in McConnellsburg with her husband, Peter Billings, who is the pastor of the United Church of Christ churches in McConnellsburg and Fort Loudon. Together, they have a daughter named Rosemary "Rosie." They also have four pets - a dog (Marceline), two cats (Fin and Clara), and a rabbit (Bailey). In her free time, Emily enjoys sewing and other crafts.
